Our Beginnings

Waterview Baptist Church came into existence as a work of the ABA, in August of 1962.  It was originally known as Richardson Missionary Baptist Mission. Our services were first held in McKamy Hall, (named after T.S. McKamy, the first elected mayor of Richardson, TX) until the property for a new church site could be purchased.

On March 10, 1963, the Mission signed a commitment for the property at our present location, on 408 S. Waterview Drive. On May 22, 1964, we became an officially organized church, known as Waterview Missionary Baptist Church.  Thanks to the Lord's amazing grace and the dedication of our members, from times past to the present, we remain a living testimony to what the Lord is willing to do through those who trust Him.

While many things have changed since we first gathered, over fifty years ago, we still maintain the same, strong focus on the teaching of God's Word and the continual reaching of others for Christ, one person at a time.
